After so many speculations and rumours for years, actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announced their wedding date on Sunday, 21 October. The Padmaavat actors are set to get married on 14 and 15 November, 2018.
Deepika and Ranveer have always maintained a very neutral attitude when asked if they were dating, but their public display of affection has made it evident that were indeed lovebirds. The couple is rumoured to have begun dating on the sets of the 2013 film Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela but have continually averted questions on their private lives. The actors have jointly appeared in two other films, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, both directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
It was in January 2018, when the wedding rumours surfaced as the couple went for a trip to Sri Lanka with their families. It was there that DeepVeer reportedly got engaged.
Padukone took to Instagram to make it official, “With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on 14 November and 15.”
“We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness,” read their joint statement.
Recently, on season 6 of Koffee with Karan, in one of the games on the show, KJo asked Deepika what she hates, loves and tolerates about Ranveer Singh. Deepika said she loves Ranveer’s “emotional quotient,” hate’s his lifestyle (“sleeping hours and all”) and she tolerates his “fashion sense.” We’ve seen proof of that on social media too. In another part of the show, Deepika confirmed that she’s been dating Ranveer Singh for six years and also confidently said that Ranveer Singh is a mumma’s boy.
At a recent media interaction, Padukone opened up on her first impression of Singh — she quipped that her first thought on seeing him was: “He’s not my type!”
While we don’t know the confirmed wedding venue as of yet, it could either be at Lake Como, Italy or right here, in Mumbai itself.
On the professional front, Singh is currently filming Rohit Shetty’s Simmba alongside Sara Ali Khan while Padukone will produce and portray acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in her biopic, directed by Meghna Gulzar.
